Issue 16

On November 4, 2025, residents of Miami Township in Greene County, Ohio will vote on Issue 16, the renewal of the existing Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) levy.

This is a renewal levy, not a new tax. Renewal levies are required by Ohio law to appear on the ballot periodically to continue existing funding for local services.

The current levy provides approximately 47% of the Fire Department’s annual operating revenue and helps maintain 24-hour fire and EMS coverage in Miami Township. Renewal of the levy will allow the department to sustain current staffing levels and continue providing the same level of service to residents, businesses, and visitors.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, the renewal represents an effective rate of 2.3 mills and is estimated to cost property owners about $82 per $100,000 of property valuation per year. The levy is expected to generate approximately $595,182 annually for the department during the 2025–2029 period.
